We treat game design like an apothecary treats a formula: precise measures, patient testing, and honest ingredients. Here is how a Qamiloren game comes to life.
- 2016
The corner workshop
Qamiloren opened above a laneway café on Bellevue Street with one letterpress, a drawer of dice and a stubborn belief that a great game night deserves great materials.
- 2019
The playtest cellar
We built a downstairs playtest room lined with amber-glass jars of prototype pieces. Local groups tested every mechanic across 300+ Tuesday-night sessions.
- 2022
The small-batch press
Demand outgrew the bench, so we installed a small-batch print and bindery line — still hand-finished, still numbered, still capped at 500 copies per title.
- 2025
The apothecary today
Today the Surry Hills storefront is part studio, part games library. Drop in, pull a title from the shelf, and play it on one of our felt-topped tables.
